Kerouac House
These are pictures of the house after a restoration paid for through a Florida Grant. The house has changed since but it gives you a feel for the style.
On The Road Scroll
The On The Road Scroll can to the Orlando History Center. What an exciting thing to see it unpacked. Ted May was the writer in residence at the time.
Valencia Co-Teaching
Liza Monroy was the first of the Kerouac writers to Co-Teach a Valencia class. The class met weekly at the Kerouac House and a special reading was held at the house to hear their work. Valencia Professor Ilyse Kusnetz was kind enough to put together this paying gig and great opportunity for our writers.
Picture By the Famous Oak Tree
There is a wonderful picture of Jack Kerouac standing next to the oak tree outside of the Kerouac House. Frank Messina, a visiting poet from New York, was in town so we set out to get a picture of him similar to the one of Jack. It was also a chance for everyone to meet Dottie Horn the newest writer at the Kerouac House.
